Dr. Jyoti Katyal is an Assistant Professor at Amity Institute of Applied Science, Amity University, in the Department of Physics. She earned her B.Sc. (H) in Physics from Gargi College and her M.Sc. (Physics) from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. She received her Ph. D. in Plasmonic Properties of Aluminum Nanostructure from IIT Delhi’s Department of Physics. She has more than 8 years of teaching experience and has produced multiple research papers in peer-reviewed journals. Plasmonic Bio-sensors, computational modeling of the metallic nanostructure for sensors in the DUV-visible-NIR region, and optimizing the nanostructure for increased near-field to be employed as SERS substrate is among her current research interests. She has completed a variety of professional training courses at reputable institutions. She has participated in a number of international conferences and seminars, and in 2017 she chaired a session at the International Conference held at IIT Roorkee in Roorkee. In 2020, she won the award for outstanding paper presentation at an international conference held at NIT Uttarakhand. She has worked as a peer reviewer for a number of international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. She has also helped to design theoretical Physics questions for the Indian Young Physicist League (IYPL-2022), Association of Indian Physics Students’ (AIPS). She has assisted numerous post-graduate and graduate students in completing projects/seminars that have resulted in research papers published in reputed journals. She is involved in academic and administrative activities in addition to research. At Amity University, she has arranged Faculty Development Programs, International/National Conferences, and Guest Lectures. She organized a computational modeling session for Amity Institute of Applied Science teachers and students in collaboration with COMSOL. She has served on the TPC for international conferences conducted in China and Japan. She also provides academic and non-academic mentorship to the students. She has engaged in numerous accreditations such as NAAC, WAS, and others as a member of the Quality Assurance and Enhancement team.
