Dr S Sharmila is the daughter of Sri S Shanmugam and Smt Anandi Bai. She has two sisters Smt S Sheela and Smt S Nirmala. The academic qualification of Dr S Sharmila is M Com, MBA, LLM, Inter ICWA, M Phil, Ph.D. She has secured 4th rank in LLM in December 2016 Examination. She has passed ‘C’ Certificate Examination under the rank of CSM, National Cadet Corps under the authority of Ministry of Defence, Government of India. She has completed Two Year Diploma Examination in NSS from the Bangalore University and has actively involved in Community Service. She has been honoured by Vishva Hindi Sansthan, Cultural Organisation, Canada for her achievements. Presently she is working as Professor in Seshadripuram College, Bengaluru-20 since last 20 years. She is the author of 15 text books , syllabus as prescribed by Bangalore University, Bengaluru City University, Davangere University and Rani Chennamma University which include Income Tax, Costing Techniques and Methods, Financial Accounting, Cost Management, Cost Accounting, Banking and Insurance Company Accounts, Financial Management, Management Accounting, GST & Business Taxation. She has guided BBM, BBA, M Com, MBA, PGDBM & M Phil students in their research projects and has submitted Minor Research Project on Waste Management. She has attended and presented papers in several National & International Conferences. She has presented research paper on ‘An Empirical Study on Balance Sheet Analysis’ in the Track on Finance, Accounting & Banking at Fifth European Academic Research Conference on Global Business, Economics, Finance & Banking at Istanbul, Turkey. She has been awarded Shiksha Ratan Puraskar, Glory of India Gold Medal, Indira Gandhi Shiromani Award & Certificate of Excellence, Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Excellence Award and The Best Citizens of India Award 2017 by The International Publishing House. Recently she has been awarded with ISSN Nobel Research Award for her research paper titled, ‘ Impact of Covid-19 on Unorganised Sectors & its Effect on Indian Economy’ in 2021.
