“Dr.Sneha Kumar Jayaswal is a medical intern in the Department of General Surgery at Christian Medical college and a research enthusiast who has worked in COVID-19 ICU care. One of the first questions she asked while working in the COVID-ICU was what the top factors associated with Covid-19 severity and mortality at the time of admission were, which led her to write her research paper titled “”Detrimental effect of diabetes and hypertension on the severity and mortality of COVID-19 infection: A multi-center case-control study from India””. During her work there she also created an online app in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and Armed Forces Medical College to create a COVID-19 severity and mortality prediction Model. She is the founder of YOGAPATHY which is an online platform for Holistic health and wellness of the Mind, Body, Soul. She is also a 200hr yoga alliance certified Yoga instructor and has conducted yoga workshops as part of international medical conferences for medical students around the world.
Apart from work she is a professional Bharatanatyam classical dancer, black belt holder in Taek-won-do, qualified rock climber who loves to go on hikes and spend time in nature. She is also an Academic advisor and volunteer at PreHealth-Shadowing which is a student led organisation for premedical students in the USA and a member of the American College of Surgeons. She has also been mentored by Dr.Devi Shetty one of the leading Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgeons of the world. Her goals and aspirations are to provide affordable and high quality health care for all.”
